UBC Geering up-Engineering Outreach Volunteer Opportunities

High School Summer Camps
Geering Up's ASAP (Applied Science Advancement Program) camps are for students in grades 8-12! Join us for a week of learning all about an engineering field. With topics like Computer Engineering, Sustainability, Biomedical Engineering and more, there is something for everyone. Students in grades 10-12 also have the opportunity to opt in to an overnight component of the camp, staying at UBC residence and learn more about life at university.
The Applied Science Advancement Program (ASAP) is Geering Up’s high school program! Join future leaders and change-makers from across Canada and around the world as you explore cutting-edge technologies and concepts in today’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields. Discussions, lectures and hands-on activities and projects will be guided by university students. Our goal is to provide opportunities to connect high school students with like-minded peers and empower them to solve tomorrow’s problems!

Design Summer Program
Design Discovery is a two-week summer program offered by the UBC School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture that introduces students to a potential career in design.
If you are considering a career in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, or an allied design discipline, you can get a taste of it here at SALA. Throughout the program, you’ll immerse yourself in the studio culture and experience what education and work are like in the design professions. You will build skills, develop projects for a portfolio, and – most importantly – learn if a career in design is right for you.Throughout the program, you’ll immerse yourself in the studio culture and experience what education and work are like in the design professions.
