We invite Vancouver schools to send grade 11 and 12 young women and gender-diverse high school students to spend a day downtown in the financial district and learn more about careers in finance.

Job Shadow Day is a free, day-long event, featuring interactive workshops, networking and mentoring sessions, presentations profiling women with diverse careers in finance, and an afternoon of job shadowing with a mentor who works in the industry. Job Shadow Day gives students a first-hand view of what a career in finance can look like.

NV REC: Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Opportunities

All students who are interested in volunteering with NVRec need to attend an orientation session before they begin. These are usually offered once a month but they are hosting 2 in September (I have asked for the possibility of 2 in October as well). Another tidbit of information is that the students need to keep looking at their email for a response from the NVREC once they apply - I would suggest to look everyday as the NVREC only waits for one-two days for student confirmation of volunteer offer before they move onto the next person on the list.

First session: Saturday, September 9th @12:30 pm - Cypress Room at Delbrook
Second session: Wednesday, Sept. 20th at 5:00 pm.

Volunteers have to rsvp as we have minimum and maximum numbers in order to run and for room capacity. To RSVP they can just email Meh directly below.
