Hootsuite Paid Internships for Secondary School Students

Hootsuite, the global leader in social media management, announced a unique paid summer internship program for up to three high school students at their headquarters in Vancouver, BC.
"The students don't just do administrative work; they get to join a team, be mentored, and deliver features to our customers just like every other software developer at Hootsuite," said Greg Bell, VP of Software Development, Hootsuite. "This is the fifth year we have run this program and I don't know of any other company who does this. It's a really exciting opportunity for some young developers."

The program will help the students develop their technical skills and knowledge about people, process, and technology by working on the products that Hootsuite's 18 million customers use to build meaningful relationships through social media.
"We will pair students with Hootsuite employees that act as mentors and teachers of their craft in software, operations, security, quality assurance, and  IT," said Daleth Hildebrand, Software Development Operations Manager, Hootsuite. "The students will work in small teams to design, build, and ship high-quality software to production, and also participate in code reviews to really delve into problem solving."

This opportunity is open to all Grade 11, Grade 12 BC students including those self-taught, and/or home-schooled who are at least 16 years old at the time of application. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in BC, and available to work full time, 40 hours per week, for an 8 week term starting on July 8, 2019. This is a paid position with a competitive salary.

Application deadline is May 10, 2019.
The job posting is available on the Hootsuite website here.
