‘Helper’ Volunteer Position

Make an uplifting connection with seniors in your neighbourhood who are
impacted during these hard times. Lift your own spirits through uplifting others.
Overview

Neighborli is a new online platform designed to build meaningful and impactful social
engagement with a focus on dealing with the challenges of a rapidly aging society. We
started as a research project at Capilano University and have blossomed into a Federal
Government funded initiative with Employment and Social Development Canada. For
more information, see article here: https://capilanou.ca/about-capu/get-to-knowus/

Our mission is to help older adults age in place comfortably and affordably through

providing opportunities for students to build intergenerational communication skills,
make an impactful social connection with someone in your neighborhood who is feeling
isolated at this time, and foster empathy for older generations. This is a non-paid
volunteer position until the platform has gained traction resulting in a potential paid
opportunity in the near future.
