The
ideal candidate for the Data Management Assistant position should be interested
in data management, data science and data analytics fields. Through this
placement, the student will develop an understanding of working in a
professional environment, gain exposure to Teck’s Data Management strategy and
how it is applied and implemented within Teck’s operations.
Reporting
to the Senior Data Specialist, the Data Management Assistant is responsible for such tasks
as field data entry, data collection workflow documentation, introductory TDS
task fulfillment and other ad hoc opportunities within the data management team.
Responsibilities:
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Combines and analyzes technical information and data;
- Assists in the generation of database related software training and workflow material
- Helps prepare presentations and information packages to assist management in decision making.
- Assist generation of end user requests for TDS services.
- Help prepare and disseminate communications to end users.
- Assist in expanding data management Knowledge Base
Qualifications:
- Organized, quick learner and punctual
- Attention to detail and can work independently
- Interested in learning about the various aspects of the mining industry and the environmental and/or safety fields.
- Preference will be given to those students considering course work in Data Science
- Ability to use Internet Explorer. Exposure to Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint would be an asset.
- Excellent writing skills
- Good communicator
- Works well with others.
