Marine Month!! Virtual Marine Career Information Sessions (Note: Eastern Time Zones so fall back 3 hours for Vancouver (PST)Time)

 

As the new school year begins, the Canadian Marine Careers Foundation is excited to share the launch of our new project: Marine Month in Canada 2023! Marine Month is a transformative learning initiative created in partnership with Canadian Geographic Education. Throughout October, this month-long celebration will open doors for students to explore Canada's thriving marine sector and discover a world of careers in navigation, engineering, technology, and more.

While the program was designed for grades 5-8, Marine Month is an opportunity to engage students of all ages through live virtual presentations, collaborative activities, and connections with industry experts. This year’s participating organizations are:

• Canadian Coast Guard

• Transport Canada

• Algoma Central Corporation

• Canada Steamship Lines

• British Columbia Ferry Services Ltd.

• Marine Atlantic

• Ocean Group

• British Columbia Coast Pilots

With over 100,000 marine professionals employed in the sector and 43% of the workforce retiring over the next 10 years, Marine Month aims to inspire the next generation to “Imagine Marine”.
