Junior Biologist Club Educator

 

Role summary: 
As a work experience student, you will aid in the facilitation and supervision of children in the Junior Biologist Club (JBC) program. JBC is a program that meets on the first three Saturdays of every month. In sessions, we explore the animals, science, and research that happens behind-the-scenes at the Vancouver Aquarium and in ocean science research. Get ready to dive into a series of adventures to gain a better understanding of our aquatic planet, the technological innovation in Aquarium research, and what we need to better protect our oceans. Students will assist with games, crafts, and more. This program allows students the opportunity to aid in the planning of the lessons, themes, and activities. Themes for this semester include:
  • The Rainforest 
  • The Arctic
  • Ocean Research
  • The Deep Sea
  • Killer Whales 
Commitment
  • Saturdays from October 2018 – February 2019
Mandatory Training
  • Core Training = Saturday 29 September 2018 from 10:00am – 4:00pm
  • Specific Training = Sunday 30 September 2018 from 9:00am – 5:00pm
