Role summary:
This position provides students an excellent opportunity to practice their teaching techniques, communication skills, and teamwork/leadership capabilities while engaging visitors and peers about local marine life/environments and conservation issues. In this role you will
- Teach groups of up to 10 students (independently and as a team), both younger and peers (grades K – 12) about marine life and ecosystems local to BC and the major conservation issues affecting them;
- Facilitating student group learning in an appropriate way (based on setting, age, etc.);
- Participating in and facilitating safe handling of marine invertebrate animals;
- Engaging in all activities, challenges, and discussions assigned of the role;
- Participate in program set-up/brief and clean-up/debrief duties.
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday
- Core Training = Saturday 29 September 2018 from 10:00am – 4:00p
- Specific Training = On your first shift, the week of October 1st 2018.
